GASP was created with the sole purpose of providing well deserved exposure for the work of independent film makers, writers, and artists, and is expected to be released quarterly. Submissions are what keep this magazine going. Big budget, small budget, no budget, the main objective is that it’s produced independently. If you have something you would like seen in our magazine, there are a series of guidelines that must be followed. Please note that not all guidelines may pertain to your submission.
General Guidelines
These pertain to all submissions (film, art, literature).
- Work must be an original idea created by you (and your crew) or you have full legal rights to the work. Remaking someone elses work is not accepted.
- GASP magazine does NOT return submitted work. Please submit a duplicate of the original work. DO NOT send the original.
- Submission is in our possession on or before the deadline date, (see lower left side of page).
- Submission of work does not guarantee it will appear in the magazine.
- Content submitted is used on a first come first used basis. The number of pages per issue are limited and typically fill up rather quickly. Even though your submission may arrive before the deadline date, it may not be published until a later issue. Please submit your work as early as possible.
- Submission of your work constitutes permission for GASP magazine to use your work for publication and promotional use.
Film Guidelines
These pertain to all film submissions.
- Films must be submitted on a DVD in the NTSC format. (DVD-R, DVD+R, Replicated). If you provide a screener copy, please indicate that it's a screener.

Promotional posters are necessary to properly advertise your work and need to be 8.5 by 11 inches at 300 DPI.
- Download, complete, and return our information questionnaire. Please be as detailed and complete as possible. A cast and crew listing is also required.
- Films longer than 30 minutes that are chosen to appear in the magazine typically receive 1 full promotional page (poster page) and 2 article pages. Films shorter than 30 minutes chosen to appear in the magazine may not receive as many pages and could be as few as one.
- The film that receives the cover/main article is determined by all the chosen films for that issue and typically receives, along with the cover page, 4 article pages beginning at the center of the magazine.
- If you would like a trailer video to appear on our videos page, one must be provided. Trailers appearing on submitted DVDs will be extracted (if possible) and appear on our videos page automatically, unless otherwise requested.

GASP magazine does not charge any fees for the publication of submitted work. It is completely free for all submitters. From time to time we are asked if we financially compensate anyone for publishing their work. The answer is no. We are an independent magazine designed specifically for promoting the hard work of those who would not normally get their much deserved exposure. We do not "purchase" work from established artists who make a living with their work. The only compensation we offer is a complimentary copy of the issue containing your work. Only one copy is offered per submission and the shipping cost is at the submitters expense. Submitters are notified via email on how to pay the shipping fee.
