For all the horror fans of the United Kingdom, we are sorry to inform you that GASP is unable to ship printed copies of our magazine into your country. Postal service guidelines restrict certain horror material from entering the U.K. To be specific, horror comics. GASP is still too small of a company to start incurring penalty fines for violating these restrictions. However, there does not seem to be any restrictions in electronic delivery. While we reget not being able to ship prints to your country, downloadable PDFs are still available for purchase and delivery.

For more info, check out the postal guidleines here: http://pe.usps.com/text/Imm/fh_014.htm#ep3576772

Issue 5 is finally here and we apologize for the late release. We pushed so hard to get back on track with issue 4 and even harded to keep schedule with issue 5 but some delays are beyond our control. Thanks for your patience and understanding. This setback has permanently affected future release dates. Issue 6 is now expected to be released in mid April.

If you have a subscription, your next issue has been shipped and should arrive to you in a few days.

On October 10, 11, and 12, the crew of GASP attended the horror
convention "Rock and Shock" in Worcester, MA. Even though the
economy is suffering, we did pretty good. We also received multiple
movie submissions while there. Since the deadline for issue 5 was
just a few weeks after the convention, most of issue 5 was already
laid out at that point. If you submitted a movie to us at "Rock and Shock",
and it's not in issue 5, it will appear in issue 6.

While at the convention, an independent writer had stopped by
and interviewed us for an article on his website. I've misplaced his
name and web address but this is the article he wrote.

Rock and Shock is a smaller version of the largest horror and pop culture show on the East Coast, Chiller Theatre in New Jersey. That extravaganza (http://www.chillertheatre.com/) will be presented Oct. 24 through 26 at the Hilton Parsippany in Parsippany, NJ. While I enjoy the Big E atmosphere of Chiller – the event is huge – Rock and Shock manages to satisfy my horror convention jones without a three-plus hour drive.

And luckily many of the companies showing off their wares at Rock and Shock have them available on the Internet, so even if you missed the show, you can still find those odd times you think you need for the holiday season.

Many of the exhibitors are native to New England, which adds a regional feel to the proceedings. GASP magazine is one of those Massachusetts-grown creations as the publication is based in Gardner. The magazine, which is available online at http://www.gaspmagazine.net caters to “independent horror” in literature, film, and art.

One of its staffers, Aaron LaBonte explained the magazine supports “the little guy.” Editor Candace LaBonte added the quarterly magazine is “an outlet for people who don’t know how to publish their work.”

The magazine can be purchased as a download, conventional print form or on a CD-Rom through its Web site. It doesn’t have any newsstand distribution at this time.

And it is for adults as I quickly assessed with a quick thumb-through.

Currently the magazine is preparing its fifth issue.
The horror products of Horror Décor (http://www.horrordecor.net), whose booth was next door to GASP, weren’t quite as visceral as the magazine, and should appeal to the horror fan looking for something a tad subtler.

GASP has created a new promotional video "GASP Magazine TV". It can be found at the
bottom of the Videos page under Miscellaneous or by clicking Here. GASP creator and
CEO Candace LaBonte hosts the 9 minute show which uses a custom built virtual set
created in a 3D animation program and features 4 movies that were submitted over the
past year. It also contains a sneak peek at a few pages from issue 5.

The 4 featured movies are:

"Cannibal Flesh Riot" from Mad Creator Productions (Issue 2)
"The Murder Game" from 500 Pieces Films (Issue 3)
"It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To" from Scotchworthy Productions (Issue 4)
"The Redsin Tower" from Toe Tag Pictures (Issue 1)

"GASP Magazine TV" can be see on YouTube as well. Just type "GASP Magazine" in the search engine.

The deadline date for issue 6 submissions is March 1st, 2009. We currently have an excess of movies for issue 6 and may hold one or two for issue 7. Any additional movie submissions received will be held for issue 7. On the flip side, we are currently short of stories. If your a writer wanting to submit your work, now is a great time to do so.

Wallpapers for issue 5 are now available for your mobile device. Sorry, but I've been too busy to make any new desktop wallpapers.

That's it for now, thanks.
